Text:
You sought out Sadani and told her you believed the child in her womb was the Sultan's blood, and so you would place her and the babe upon the throne.
The former concubine, still reeling from the upheaval, stared at you wide-eyed. "But..." she said, "You could claim the throne yourself. What... what do you want from this?"
You smiled. She was a clever woman, wasn't she?
You told her you wanted a realm to play with as you pleased. You spoke of your plan to introduce "Joyous Ticket", a game mimicking the Sultan's Card. People bought these tickets to commit the acts inscribed upon them without legal consequence: Carnality, of course, but also Bloodshed. You ranked every citizen by tier though, naturally, one could rise in tier by paying you enough. Why fear a mere Stone Bloodshed Card when three gold coins could spare you? The Golden ones, however, cost a hundred and twenty! You rewarded and punished officials with these tickets. At first bewildered, they soon groveled desperately, who would gamble their entire fortune to satisfy the whim of a card?
Sadani grew increasingly horrified, repeatedly trying to interrupt before you silence her. The more you spoke, the more delighted you grew, gesturing wildly, making one thing clear: you were ready to slaughter every dissenter, even including her and the child in her belly.
"You wish to do evil, yet leave no tyrant's name for history to curse," she murmured, hen laughs bitterly, "You want me and my child to issue these mad decrees in your stead. And even if I begged your oath to spare us... even if you gave it... I suppose you would break it all the same. Fine... just do as you will."
Yes, she was a clever woman indeed.
