Text:

You claimed the Golden Throne, naming Riel, the foreign brute from the Dark Alley, as your Vizier.

This appointment alone would have been outrage enough, but your reforms of abolishing slavery, dismantling noble privilege, proved you weren't content to be just another Sultan. They had expected another wolf to feed, another name to chant in their hollow hymns. Instead, they found a ruler who meant to rule.

The realm convulsed. Slaves and ruined peasants rallied under your banners, sweeping from every territory. They slayed masters and looted freemen's stores. Minor noble and burghers, forced to choose between their livelihoods and loyalty, hired cutthroats to guard what little remained.

Riel fought like a demon for you. She recruited every alley-born killer, crushed noble houses without mercy, gave shelter to runaway slaves... yet still you lacked the strength to break the tradition of this very land. When the riots reached the capital, your royal guards and Riel's ragtag forces couldn't hold the streets. The army, its officers whispering treason, refused your orders. So you took up your sword yourself.

You walked among the mob, calling for calm while cutting down looters until the first stone struck. A jagged rock hurled from the crowd split your brow. As you fell, Riel caught you, shielding your body with her own as more stones rained down

"He tried to save you, you fucking sheep!" she screamed, trying to protect you in her arms. "Can't you tell friend from foe? Or do you like wearing chains?!"

Those were the last words you heard.
