When you proudly placed Nawfal upon the Sultan's throne, believing the script would unfold as planned, his smile made your gut twist with foreboding...



Upon coronation, Sultan Nawfal immediately established a council. Every noble's voting power would be weighted by the number of souls in their domain. And you? You were made the Speaker of Council, tasked with presenting all motions to the Sultan.



It still sounded like grueling work which need you to mediate disputes, to sooth tempers sparked by the new order. But you accepted. After all, Nawfal was the Sultan. True power remained with him... Didn't it?



Then, the most benevolent and wise Sultan issued a decree surrendering all executive authority to the council! He retained only veto power and the right to call dissolution votes! Of course, he graciously listed his new duties: overseeing construction of the Royal University, establishing the Archives... all tasks he'd have happily done anyway!



This was dumping the entire burden back on you! That cunning bastard! You knew the political rival was vile, but one wearing the crown? Now you had to obey his every whim!



As you raged at Nawfal, he laughed until tears streamed down his face. You'd never seen him so delighted. When his mirth subsided, he clasped your shoulder.



"The best ruler is one who doesn't wish to rule. And though I never desired the Golden Throne... you gave it to me. So [player.name], by that measure, you remain this realm's finest ruler."



Together, you built a wonderful realm.
