A servant tells you Malkina is arguing with a strange man outside your residence, so you go to look.
The man seems a low noble, one hand gripping a shy-eyed young woman; the other jabbing angrily at Malkina, who wears a face of lofty indifference.
After listening a while, you untangle it: the girl had long pined for the man but could not win his affection, so she went to Malkina, asking to be remade in the image of his ideal woman... and it worked. But later, he discovered the hair, the skin, the figure had all been "enhanced" by Malkina... He felt deceived; Malkina, of course, felt she had done nothing wrong.
The two glare at each other, neither yielding an inch... perhaps you should say something?op1: You are to blame.op2: The woman behind you is to blame.op3: Malkina, honestly?op4: None of my business.

You sighed and stepped between the man and Malkina.
You first asked Malkina how she had dressed the girl.
"She said the man liked curves, maple-colored long hair, skin like ebony, and bright red lips," Malkina replied, indifferent. "That is nothing a little costuming sleight-of-hand, a few straps in the right places, a dab of skin oil and hair oil, and a smear of honey on the lips could not solve."
"And what I got was a fake—!" the man shouted angrily. "Her hair was not even maple—it was dyed! It even ran—look!"
You blocked his hand as it reached toward Malkina. You told him the fault is his own:
he built an idol in his mind, a perfect image no one could ever be. So of course someone could reach his heart by copying that illusion. He was the one who refused to love a soul—so how could he blame the mask that fooled him?
Leaning close, you spoke more softly. "Look at her. She changed herself completely for you. She painted her skin, tied her body, sweetened her lips—all to become what you desired. Isn't that proof enough of her love? And doesn't it show that what you call 'beauty' is no more than a clever trick of oils and threads?"
The man frozen, glancing between you, Malkina, and the girl behind him — only now realizing he's still clutching her hand.
They exchanged a quick, flustered look, cheeks burning.
Then they left. The man muttered a hasty apology to Malkina; the girl, teary-eyed, thanked you.
Your eloquence left a deep impression on everyone who witnessed the scene.

You blocked his hand as it reached toward Malkina. Then you seized the girl behind him and pulled her forward.
You told the man that the real deceiver isn't Malkina—it's this girl. She learned all his preferences first, then had Malkina disguise herself to fit them. Malkina was only the knife; the one holding it is the real culprit.
You went on to say that being deceived wasn't always such a terrible thing. After all, not everyone was worth deceiving. Coming from the Sultan's own minister, your words sounded all the more convincing. If a woman was willing to change her appearance just to win his favor, wasn't that something for a man to feel proud of? Think about it—what exactly was he angry about? No one's been hurt here.
The man's face turned red as he mumbled something about "feeling humiliated when people saw she wasn’t really dark-skinned." Yet his grip on the girl's hand only tightens. Her face, too, flushed crimson. She stole a glance at you, then quickly lowered her eyes.
And just like that, the quarrel ended. The man mumbled a vague thanks, the girl winked at Malkina, and the two of them left together.
The onlookers, meanwhile, seemed utterly convinced by your eloquence.

You blocked his hand as it reached toward Malkina, and then waved Malkina to your side.
You told the man that Malkina indeed had made a mistake—her only fault lay in dragging the woman he imagined out of his dreams and into the real world. He wanted a full-figured, maple-haired, dark-skinned, dazzling beauty, and hopelessly in love with him. Malkina's craft was the only way to fulfill his wish. But yes, she meddled where she shouldn't have. What harm would there have been in letting him go on dreaming?
Malkina bowed sincerely to the man and promised to restore the girl to her former look; snickers ran through the bystanders, and the man, realizing you were right, only grew angrier.
He ranted for a long while as you and Malkina watched him like one might watch a clown perform. In the end he dared nothing, and slunk off home with the girl in tow.
The crowd came away impressed by yoursharp tongue and eloquence.
