- Change Total Card (Raed) Name: Raedina
- Change Table Card (Raed) Text: To better protect the vagrants, Raed draped herself in silk, adorned with jewelry, and carried herself with the hauteur of a noblewoman. No one would guess she had recently been joking and sharing meals with street beggars and wanderers.
- Rite: The False Princess
- Prompt:
You told Raed that she had already found the answer in her own mind—that was why she had been so torn, tossing and turning in her thoughts. Hadn't she already used the image of a noble lady to cover the vagrants several times? Hadn't she seen how foolish guards and High Constables fawned over nobles? She possessed everything needed to be a noble—perfect manners, perfect education—so why not use these to seize more advantage? Advantage that could be redistributed by her hands so that more people ate their fill?
Raed bit her lip, hesitating, thinking... "Mother told me to keep far away... She spent her life teaching me to be a lady, but at the end, she told me to stay far from nobles—far as I could. If anyone learned I am the present supreme Sultan's... sister, he would surely take my head, and that might be the least of it." She drew a long breath, then lifted her eyes to you. "But I can't hide forever. I am who I am; whether it's the schooling I had as a child or the blood and flesh that make this body, I can't evade it. You're right—why not exploit myself to the utmost, why not do what only I can do?" She bent forward and with one hand loosened her haphazardly bound hair. "Princess Raedina will return to this city; she would help you greatly. But you must promise her friend Raed one thing—you must care for those vagrants: their food and drink, their health, their safety. If they are harmed, Princess Raedina will be heartbroken... and you know how ladies, once heartbroken, hide away—then you'll never find her."
You pledged to care for the vagrants. "You must also promise never to link me to that filthy throne; I will never enter the palace, never be a lord, and don't you dare try to shove me anywhere for your political ends..." You promised you would never use her birth to demand she become Sultan or anything else—an almost laughable pledge, promising a refugee you would not make her Sultan!
"Good. Then... I need to go make preparations. We'll speak again." She rose and gave you a haughty nod, every inch the great lady.
