The Jeweler visits the consorts as usual, and sees Consort Sadani. But Sadani turns down your request for a meeting outside the palace, excusing herself saying she does not want to draw further attention. She hands the Jeweler some money for you, hoping that it is enough to settle the matter.

You failed to convince them
The Royal Guard Captain, Seliman, seems to be in a bad mood today. He interrupts your flattery and even pushes away the bag of coins you try to sneak him. He states flatly that Consort Sadani is unwell and unfit to receive visitors; you are not to disturb her again.

How odd. Did Consort Sadani specifically order them to stop you? After all that she has done for her, how dare she be so cold?

There is something strange going on. But there is nothing to be done here today. Perhaps next time you will learn something.

You notice something strange...
Captain Seliman of the Royal Guards seem to be in a poor mood today. He abruptly interrupts your flatteries, even refusing the purse you try to bribe him with. He states flatly that Consort Sadani is unwell today and not in a state to receive visitors, that you should leave her in peace.

You detect a hint of something unusual in his eyes – the hostility of lion whose territory has been threatened.

It dawns on you. Pulling him aside, you whisper: "I know the relationship between you and Consort Sadani. Worry not, I have no intentions on her. It's just that the Consort had tasked me with this errand..."

"Sadani told you?" Seliman looks at you in surprise, and when he sees the shrewd satisfaction on your face, he falls silent.

You smile. "No wonder Consort Sadani asked me to 'correct' the royal records... Well, less correction, more fabrication, right, Captain Seliman? Please take your hand off the hilt. We are friends, aren't we?" You pat his shoulder.

At this point, it is no longer necessary for you to meet with Sadani today. You can wait and see which of you, Seliman and her can best keep your composure. You know you can wait, unlike them.

You Sneak into the Palace
You sneak into the palace by the secret passage. It takes you some time to find Consort Sadani's abode.

As night drapes its velvet shroud over the palace, you scale the garden wall in silence, only to halt in surprise at the sight before you. Sadani stands among the blooming desert roses, her gaze lowered as a man in gilded armor plucks a blossom and tucks it behind her ear. A gesture far too intimate. And yet, she does not pull away. Beneath the lantern’s glow, her glassy, jewel-like eyes shimmer with complex emotions.

Before you can decipher the look in those eyes, the man lifts his head, as if sensing something amiss. You flee before they find you, but you have seen enough. You know his face. Seliman, the Royal Guard Captain, one of the Sultan’s most trusted Champions, the only four men permitted to bear arms in his presence.
