A Chance for Survival
Seliman arrives at the appointed place, unguarded, unaware. And yet, he has done nothing to deserve death, here and now, even though he may become your enemy one day. Or perhaps, a man of his rank and skill would be far more useful alive, bent to your cause?

The moment you step out from the shadows, Seliman's sharp gaze finds you. Seeing it is you, he does not flinch, does not startle. "Did Sadani send you?" he asks. "Why haven’t you done it yet?"
"You knew?"
"She's an anxious girl." His voice carries an unfamiliar gentleness as he turns his gaze to the dying light on the horizon. "As long as I live, she will never feel safe."
"So you would die for her?" Surprised, you search his face for the telltale signs of a man stalling for time. You find none. He smiles, faintly, and does not answer. But you already understand.
Extra
You urge Seliman to rebelYou are silent for a long moment. Then, you switch the subject. "I have a plan. To kill the Sultan."
Seliman stiffens, but you raise a hand, forestalling his protest. "Don’t be so quick to dismiss me, Seliman. And spare me your speeches on loyalty. You put a child in his consort's belly. Think about it, if the Sultan dies..." you ponder for a moment, "if the Sultan dies, Sadani would be free."
You press him, your voice smooth as a serpent’s whisper: "Think about it. Do you really believe he will allow the child to be born? Even if he believes it to be his own blood? The Sultan will never raise a son who might one day challenge him. Sadani must tell herself he will welcome the child, but you know better than anyone, Seliman. You know what the Sultan truly is."
You lower your voice further and cast the lure: "As long as the Sultan lives, he is a curse upon Sadani that she can never escape from. Would you not see her child blessed instead of condemned? Would you not see her smile again?"
You see the war raging in Seliman's eyes. "But you... You truly believe you can kill him? You have no idea how powerful he is. His Signet Ring, his guards, his armies. That cursed wizard at his side. And on top of that, he is a formidable warrior..."
"And that, is why I need you, Seliman. It's not like you have anyone else to turn to in this. No one else in this entire empire dares to dream of such a thing. But I do. And I have a plan."
You reveal to him just enough of your progress. He weighs the options, and at last, he nods. Together, you fake his death. As Seliman is no more, a mask warrior emerges to stand by your side, one who answers only to you.
Conditions:
Result:
The moment someone resolves to end their life is when they come closest to the Cultic God - abandoning life's toil, embracing hope after death, nothing more, nothing less.
The blade Seliman holds against his throat slowly lowers. From this day forward, he will serve through another identity... another method, continuing to love the one he loves, with fervor like Cultic God worship.

"I have never seen a greater fool." Since kind words are of little use to someone like him, you decide to take the opposite approach and sneer at him sharply: "It's easy for you to die. But what about Consort Sadani?"
"What about her...?"
"You really think the Sultan will allow the child to be born? Even if he believes it to be his own blood? The Sultan will never raise a son who might one day challenge him. Sadani must tell herself he will welcome the child, but you know better than anyone, Seliman. You know what the Sultan truly is," you lower your voice further and cast the lure, "if you die, when Consort Sadani is in danger, who will help her? Who would... die for her?"
"..." Saliman is shaken. He can almost imagine how helpless his beloved would feel when she is surrounded by enemies, when she is... executed. He clenches his fists, trying to suppress his emotions, and asks, "Then what should I do...?"
"I can forge your death. It will be enough to trick the consort. As for you... why don't you stay with me for the time being? The consort and I are on the same boat, so you need not worry about my allegiance."
Seliman hesitates, but finally nods.

Result:
Your words are sweet, but Seliman grows impatient.
He wants no more of this conversation and draws his sword. You step back in surprise, preparing for combat.
But it is not you for whom the blade is drawn.
Too late. A gush of crimson spills out the artery, as vibrant as the sunset, and twice as cruel. You watch him closing his eyes and falling to the reeds, their edges sharp, their embrace soft. This is the last thing he could do for Sadani.
