Outcome

Prior

Arriving after hearing the disturbing news, you find only an intricate blood-drawn pattern covering the floor. Fatuna stands at its center, her belly slightly swollen, with clothing fragments scattered at her feet - unmistakably what Zaki wore yesterday.

"The Dark Lord blessed me with a miracle," her pale face, blood-red lips, and ink-dot eyes assemble into an unsettling smile, "allowing me to properly re-educate this child."

Extra

You brought a dagger to Zaki.
That night, Zaki finally made up his mind and used the dagger you gave him to kill his own mother. He then went to the palace and confessed his crime.

This case caused a huge commotion among the nobles; some said he was a matricidal monster deserving the ultimate punishment, while others said he was a filial son avenging his father and should be pardoned. Opinions varied, but Zaki no longer cared. He had fulfilled his own inner sense of justice.

The Sultan was pleased to see bloodshed. He first took a good look at Fatuna’s beautiful corpse, then happily said, 'You are all right, so let's sentence this child to death. It is the price for the deceased's life, and accompanying one's own mother, after all, is what a filial child should do.'

No one objected to the Sultan's decision. Zaki stood calmly amidst the accusations and praises, and as he faced the blade, he suddenly understood how his mother felt when she stood before him...

Maggie brought some rare snacks to visit the mother and son.
Zaki and Fatuna seemed to have forgotten how to interact with each other; the atmosphere was awkward and tense. Seeing this, Maggie nonchalantly mentioned that those unique snacks came from a distant land and were very precious and popular... and she had just recently learned how to make them.

Maggie winked and then gently but irresistibly pulled Fatuna and Zaki into the kitchen... Oh my, even young Zaki and Fatuna rarely cooked for themselves, but Maggie seemed enthusiastic, directing them on which ingredients to get, how to knead the dough, and how much sugar to add...

Very soon, thanks to her experience, the mother got the hang of it, while the child, who had never stepped into a kitchen before, was still clumsy. Fatuna was half-exasperated and half-sympathetic, wanting Zaki to sit outside, but the child refused to give up. He argued with his mother, determined to get it right. Maggie watched all this with a smile.

When the cookies were finally placed on the table, many cold things melted in the soft afterglow of the sunset. There was no ice to be held in the clenched hands of the mother and son who depended on each other.

You played the Bloodshed Card on Zaki
You gave Zaki a dagger, telling him that you would absolve him of his crime, and besides... you happened to need to break that Bloodshed Card. So, that night, Zaki finally gritted his teeth and decided to kill his mother.

The next day, you publicly declared that you killed Fatuna, thereby breaking a Bloodshed Card. People half-heartedly condemned you for a moment, then greedily turned their eyes to the vast wealth inherited by the orphan after his mother’s death...

With no parents, Zaki could no longer accept your protection, for it was ethically untenable. Nor could he stay in the city, for it was full of wolves.

One morning he bid you farewell, leaving you with all of Fatuna’s inheritance, except a little travel money.

'Thank you, teacher. I have no regrets.' He bowed his head slightly, as if not daring to look into your eyes. 'I just want to go out and see... to see what justice really is...'
