White-Belly

Alim wants to slice up that beggar leader with his knife – considering what the man did, he deserves it; but you might handle it better, like finding out where Hemir is... What's keeping a ruthless trafficker from talking anyway?

His gaze no longer stubborn
You took out Hemir's whistle, telling White-Belly that the child must be connected to his beggar gang...

You told him you will question every street urchin here, even every person in the Dark Alley—someone must have seen a child with this whistle. Meanwhile, you'll torture him every day until Hemir is found. If he's alive, you'll let Hemir kill him personally. Or, he could reveal Hemir's whereabouts now, and you promised he can leave alive.

This threat hit home, and he gave up resisting, revealing a shocking truth—Hemir is his long-lost biological son.

Alim's eyes widened in shock: "Then why did you kidnap him? Who kidnaps their own son?"

"Because I went to find him before! I told him 'You're my son, I'll spend money to buy you an identity, I'll send you to be a respectable apprentice'—but this ungrateful brat actually—I can't even—he told me that he wants to follow Alim to be a thief! What father wouldn't be furious hearing that? Tell me, Alim—my son wants to follow you to become a thief! What do you think about that?!"

Alim, usually articulate, with lips parted as if to speak, said: "If I hadn't picked Hemir up from the streets and brought him home... he would have starved to death."

"Sure, he's not starving, but now he's turning into a thief. He'll end up on the gallows... or torn apart by the nobles' hounds!"

"Oh, come on, following you means being a beggar at most!"

"I've saved money—yes, I've stepped on other kids to do it, I'm a bastard, I'm scum, I'm a vulture—but I've saved that money to give Hemir a future. You're the one teaching him wrong!"

This had to be the most pathetic custody battle ever. Anyway, now that you had found out Hemir's whereabouts, killing his biological father isn't an option—just leave the rest to Alim.

Alim, some rumors aren't just rumors
Although Alim has threatened White-Belly dozens of times, he doesn't expect you to actually take out the Carnality Card... Old Alim wants to run away, as it is said that when the card glows, your manhood will surge through everyone in sight; but he doesn't dare turn his back on you or look away from what's happening even for a moment.

...

Afterward, you pull up your pants and look at White-Belly who has bitten his tongue to commit suicide: there must be some special hidden truth in this matter that we'll never know now.

Old Alim is truly, completely frightened; he might never dare to appear before you again.

You tell him he'll lose everything, yet he simply smiles
You nail this shameful trafficker to the iron gate, forcing him to watch as you conquer this place with the powers bestowed by the Sultan. You empty his lair, take away all the beggars and thugs, level the garbage heaps (which he calls treasures), flatten every inch of stinking soil, and remove the graffiti on the walls (which he calls history).

In the end, he bleeds out and dies in spasms, and all you get is nothing but an empty room... Alim leaves disappointed, leaving all these trophies to you.

Smells Fishy
Alim drains every last drop of blood from White-Belly… but he still won't reveal the Hemir's whereabouts or admit to killing him. Alim is on the verge of losing his mind–it's said he's been scouring the Dark Alley ever since that day, to no avail.

Conditions:

You signal Alim to kill White Belly
Alim tortured White-Belly to death. Even in his final moments, he never revealed the child's whereabouts.

Death and Truth
You present White-Belly with the Sultan's Bloodshed Card, offering him a chance: a one-on-one duel to the death, witnessed in the name of the Sultan's Game. If he wins, he walks free and may even tell his tale to the Sultan, but if you win, he must divulge what he knows.

For any condemned prisoner, this is a fair and even honorable opportunity. Neither White-Belly nor Alim raises any objection. Or rather, they seem baffled as to why you would go to such lengths for a child.

Alim unties White-Belly, who grabs his favored iron rod... he straightens his posture, puffing out his chest, trying to face you with the dignity of a true warrior.

...

Moments later, White-Belly falls to the ground. He shouldn't be surprised by this outcome.

"Hemir is my biological son... I sent him to be an apprentice at a mill..." he gasps, revealing shocking truths before his final words fade into a gurgle of blood.

Modest as it may be, perhaps this tale of death might provide some small amusement for the Sultan? As for Hemir, now that you have your lead, you can leave the rest to Alim – just make sure no one tells the boy who really killed his father.

"Hemir is my biological son... hah..." White-Belly reveals this shocking truth just before crushing your skull. But now, you'll never have a chance to share this story with the Sultan...
