The serpent spirits dwelling within stone sculptures were intimidated by this feline before them. Those stone-carved segments rolled, stirring underground quicksand... From deep stone steps came the sound of mechanisms activating - you opened the temple's seal... at least partially.
Conditions:
Result:
The first mechanism requires matching several special carved stone plates... The patterns upon that rock python sculpture seem mysteriously corresponding.
As [s1.name] drew nearer to examine it, the massive sculpture springs to life, ensnaring [s1.name] in its coils and eliciting a pained moan from [s1.name].
Quicksand flows through ancient gears as carved stone scales scrape against flesh, etching deliberate patterns into skin... The puzzle's solution becomes clear - [s1.name] must strip away their clothing so the stone serpent can brand complete markings... Just before [s1.name] would be crushed entirely, you decipher the full design and turn the tablet...
Stone coils unwind, releasing their sacrifice to the flowing sands below... Deep beneath the steps, grinding mechanisms echo - you've broken through part of the temple's ancient ward.
Conditions:
A sequence of carved tablets holds the key to the first mechanism, their symbols somehow linked to the great python's stone hide. But when you venture close enough to study the markings, the sculpture awakens with terrible purpose, crushing [s1.name] in its embrace. As the stone drinks [s1.gender(his,her)] life, crimson spreads across every carved scale - yet the riddle remains unsolved. This adventure was destined to end in devastating loss and empty return.

With the first lock turned, the cobra atop the second pillar stirs to life, sliding along hidden tracks to seal the great doors... Wind, sand, or sorcery strikes hollow chambers within, giving the statue human voice - ancient words offer a riddle: enter only when the sovereign takes pleasure - thankfully [s2.name] knows such lore!
You notice a ring of buttons atop the cobra's head, depicting the sun's trajectory - this appears to be where the second mechanism opens...
The answer, of course, was the noon button on top of the cobra's head. In the lost ancient empire, the monarch was considered an embodiment of the sun, and they would naturally engage in public debauchery under the midday sun to prove their power... at least that's what the blasphemous texts say.
Regardless, this answer satisfied the cobra statue. It slowly slid into the dark quicksand along the stone groove, clearing the way for you.

With the first lock turned, the cobra atop the second pillar stirs to life, sliding along hidden tracks to seal the great doors... Wind, sand, or sorcery strikes hollow chambers within, giving the statue human voice - but no one could understand these broken words! [s2.name] guessed that this was some kind of riddle, and the answer was on the button on top of the statue's head... [s2.name] decided to take the risk, but obviously guessed the wrong button. As a result, the cobra's fangs pierced [s2.gender(his,her)] neck - the venom inside was still deadly after all these years, and it began to drain the victim's blood, slowly decorating the grooves on the statue's neck.
...This adventure was destined to end in devastating loss and empty return.

After the dark passage opened before you, you saw the winding rattlesnake sculptures on the stone walls... Their twisted shadows obscured the murals behind them, depicting forbidden scenes, and their tails were fashioned into the shape of lanterns - lighting up as you arrived.
The lampshadows began to sway, and you heard a hallucinatory jingling in your ears... The murals came to life in the flickering shadows, ancient feasts and alluring bodies appearing and disappearing in this passage... One wrong step, and you might become captives of the illusion.
In this intoxicated and dangerous moment, [s3.name] bravely stepped into the corridor, dancing to the rhythm of the rattlesnake, moving within the fatal light and shadow. [s3.name] avoided the touch of the ancient ghosts, passed close to the forgotten god's courtesans, and the long-abandoned feast illusions collapsed under [s3.gender(his,her)] dance steps, leaving only dust... Now, mortals can safely pass through this place.

The serpent spirits housed within these carvings cower before this feline presence. The segments of the statue, carved from rock, rolled, and countless silver rings inlaid on them lit up and then dimmed - except for the one always glowing, surrounded by magic, which the cat quickly snatched.
With this token, you opened the coffin in the deepest part of the temple... a secret treasure sealed away with poison and riches.

You arrived at the final chamber - the statue had long since collapsed, leaving only the secret room with a huge sarcophagus.
Silver and rock, crafted by skilled artisans, formed countless coral snakes. They filled the hall, like guards, like a seal... undoubtedly, they would kill all intruders with their venom... unless someone could find the key-token on the sarcophagus lid - it should be a ring, and there were thousands of rings on the coral snakes guarding the hall.
[s4.name] cast a spell to summon a glowing light, making countless rings flicker... while the snakes were still confused, [s4.name] used a thread-like magical power to hook away the most brilliant, the only magical ring.

[s4.name] seemed to catch a trace of magic in the air. [s4.name] leaped desperately to seize the serpent, but another viper's fangs had already pierced [s4.gender(his,her)] ankle... Life was claimed, mechanisms triggered. The vengeful spirits and undead had fed sufficiently on blood - the mechanisms slowly sealed shut. The Viper Temple would not open again until its next hunger stirred...
You fled in panic, choosing no particular path... This adventure was destined to end in devastating loss and empty return.
