Meeting Arzuna in Private
The servants, with curious eyes, led the beautiful lady into your parlor. She remained in her dancer's attire—bells jingling at her wrists and ankles, hair swept high, her delicate face finely made up.

Seated, she began at once to praise your servants' poise as proper to a courtier's name. When the servants retreated at your signal, she leaned closer and whispered with a soft smile, "You must have your doubts about me, Lord [player.name]. I am Arzuna, and I suppose I should call you 'brother'... As you might not know, I was born of your father's concubine."

She produced your father's letters, tokens, and proofs, along with documents signed by a local magistrate attesting to her lineage... Clearly, she had come prepared. After you examined them, she carefully tucked everything back into her arms and smiled. "Be at ease. I stand on your side."

"I know being a courtier's sister promises no certain wealth or glory, but being of use to you might grant me what I desire. So, when I learned you were caught in the Sultan's game, I came straight away."

You were at a loss for words. She edged a little closer, letting a heady scent drift toward you. One downward glance revealed her radiant, enchanting face. "Besides... I've long looked up to you, my brother."

Her gaze was steady, intimate, almost suffused with a hidden longing. Yet she pulled back, as if aware of propriety, and rose with a graceful curtsy. The breeze from outside carried away her subtle fragrance. Alone in the room, you felt a quiet, fleeting pang of regret.

A Very Formal Conversation
Out of respect for the lady—and for the mistress of the house—you and Maggie went into the parlor together. The servants ushered in Arzuna, still dressed as a dancer—bells jingling at her wrists and ankles, hair swept high, her delicate face finely made up. A flicker of surprise crossed her face at the sight of Maggie, then vanished almost immediately. With a proper curtsy to both of you, she smiled and spoke, "You must have doubts about me, Lady Maggie, Lord [player.name]..." Her gaze alighted on you, light as a butterfly. "I am Arzuna, and I suppose I should call you 'brother'... As you might not know, I was born of your father's concubine."

She produced your father's letters, tokens, and proofs, along with documents signed by a local magistrate attesting to her lineage... Clearly, she had come prepared.

You cast a nervous glance at Maggie's slightly furrowed brow, thinking of how sensitive it always was for a concubine's daughter in aristocratic circles, and how this might stir gossip in a house with a childless mistress. Yet there was no trace of anger in Maggie's eyes, only a reassuring smile that made your spine straighten: it was not your fault—you were not your father.

Maggie read through the papers swiftly, set them aside, and sighed at Arzuna. "You must have had a hard life," she said, her tone not pitying but broadly accepting. "Take care of her, my dear—she is one of the few of your own blood."

You promised firmly, while Arzuna stared at Maggie for a long moment before forcing a small, vivid smile. "Rest assured, Lady Maggie—I am here to aid your husband."

"I know you are not short of followers, but I have my own strengths. So, when I learned you were caught in the Sultan's game, I came straight away."

You praised her efficiency—after all, she had helped you the day before when you were most short-handed—and Maggie nodded approvingly. Arzuna flushed and soon excused herself.

Once Arzuna left, Maggie sipped her pomegranate tea thoughtfully before turning to you. "Do men really need concubines so much, my dear? What do you think?"

Ah... you knew this wouldn't be so easily forgotten!
